Let’s Talk About Seungri’s Sex Scandal

The biggest scandal in the Kpop world right now has got to be Seungri from Big Bang‘s sex scandal.

Seungri allegedly had sex with a girl in a kinky, slightly “rude” way.  Gasp!  Sex with a girl?!?!  What is this world coming to.  So here’s what supposedly happened..

On September 13, Japanese gossip mag called Friday printed a story with pics about some random woman that said she slept with Seungri, that he had a habit of choking her and being violent while having sex.  She was also quoted as saying:

“He ejaculated on my chest and just threw me a towel and didn’t even wipe [the semen]. He didn’t even kiss at all [during intercourse].”

Here’s the scan from the tabloid:

Yeah that kind of does look like Seungri but doesn’t that look like a man’s hand?

Awww… you had what was probably a one night stand with an ultra famous dude and he didn’t give you hearts and flowers or ask you to marry him?  What a travesty!  Yeah right…  If this story is even true, I’m sure she was well aware of what she was getting into.

What’s interesting is that she said he had a “habit” of choking her.  Oh yeah?  That means he did it more than once.  Breath play and violence during sex = BDSM… why am I not surprised?  Seungri definitely doesn’t come off as all vanilla.  Hopefully this isn’t someone he trusted, because that would be awful.

Also, apparently I’m not the only one that finds the phrase, “he just threw me a towel” extra funny.  Seungri fans from all over are considering petitioning to have their fan names be the “Towelettes”.  Smdh.

The sad part is that, while most world VIPs are either highly amused, couldn’t care less, or wish it was them (check out the Seungri tag on Tumblr for a good laugh), it’s probably a huge deal in well-mannered South Korea.  Some reports are even saying this scandal could have a negative effect on G-Dragon‘s comeback and upcoming promotions.  It might also have a big effect on Seungri’s own money, since he’s been doing solo activities in Japan and also wants to be an actor.

Here’s what’s not being reported on much in the media though:  Daesung and Seungri recently had some of their luggage and passports stolen from their van while in Japan so those pics could very well be from a personal camera.  Tsk tsk…

It is sad that people have to go out of their way to cause scandals. Like your article said many people would love to be in this girls place if it was true. They make it seem audacious its not like he raped her! I find it amusing that it has become such a scandal though XD

Did they think he was this innocent kid it shouldn’t be a big deal everyone has sex that’s life….. The funny part was the rough part lol I guess seungri likes it rough when he’s doing it

The thing I find most ridiculous about this situation is the attitude people are taking about how she was allegedly treated. It might not have even happened but as someone who’s had experience with physically abusive relationships, I’ve always felt that choking someone was a pretty violent and damaging thing to do. True, some people enjoy it, but not everyone does. She might have legitimately been bothered by it. And the towel thing… if two consenting people decide to have sex, I don’t know why it’s ok for the woman to be written off as a slut and treated like shit. She might have been a one-night-stand, but she’s still a person. It wouldn’t have hurt him to have shown her some base amount of respect. Even if this turns out to be all made up, I think the biggest issue is the fact that double standards, violence, and disrespect are all widely accepted responses to women who… Gasp! Dare to have sex with a celebrity.

And I don’t think it’s funny at all.

First- I think that this entire article from Friday needs to be taken with a grain of salt because it is from a tabloid. Not the most reputable source. The National Enquirer is a tabloid as well. Good for a laugh, not good for actual news.

Second- If he was that crude (not giving her a towel), would he really have slept next to her afterwards? There are a couple reasons, if that even did happen, it could have happened. A) He realized what he did and felt embarrassed and didn’t know what to do. B) She took care of it right away so he didn’t NEED to get her a towel. C) They were going to get it on again or shower or something, so a towel wasn’t necessary. Technically, none of us were there so… we can’t really know.

Third- I believe that if choking actually was a “habit” and she didn’t enjoy it, she should very well have said something. And if he didn’t listen, then you leave his butt or you report it or something. The fact that she said it was a “habit” means that it had happened before. So either a) she wasn’t a one night stand and it had happened before or b) they had sex multiple times that night. If a is true and she had a problem with it, why go back unless she was planning on using that information anyways? If b is true, why not say something after the first time?

Last- Double standards. This just upsets me. I don’t think the disrespect is because she had sex with a celebrity. I think the disrespect she is receiving from VIPs is because of what she did afterwards. If she had a problem with what happened, why not go talk to him? Why not go talk to YG? Why did she go straight to the only “newspaper” that would print a story like that? If what she said really happened, there are plenty, and I mean plenty of papers that would have gobbled that story up. But she went to one of the most unreliable sources of publication to get her “story” out. The only reason I can see is for profit. And THAT is why she (if there even is a she) has gotten so much disrespect.

Just my $0.98. Take it with a grain of salt or leave it.

First – Because this was reported in a tabloid, I don’t even believe the story is true, to be honest. My problem isn’t with Seungri (and I’m sure he’ll come out of this just fine), it’s with people’s reactions.

Your next two points are assuming a bit much. The second point is all speculation on your part and for the third you say: “The fact that she said it was a “habit” means that it had happened before.” It could also mean he did it multiple times while they had sex once. It happens. What also sometimes happens is that someone protests and gets ignored. Like you said, we weren’t there, we don’t know what happened, if it happened. We only have these snippets from an unreliable source. You’re also exhibiting some common victim-blaming behaviors, which is a little scary. “She should have said something… and if he didn’t listen, then you leave his butt or you report it or something” It seems she did report it, but no one’s on her side.

Lastly – I would agree with you if so many people weren’t attacking her instead of what she did. I’d agree that if this did happen and she felt hurt, she shouldn’t have gone to some trashy tabloid. But most of the comments I see are along the lines of “Well, she was just a one-night-stand/groupie/ect., why would it matter if she was treated unkindly?” That’s what bothers me the most.

Like I said, whether the story is true or not, I just feel that people are being a little misogynistic about this.

        • Niki

I’d like to say that I love the internet. I do. Because we can have this discussion and you can have your opinion and I can have mine. So while you’re right that my second point is assuming much… meh, everything is speculation.

What I want to apologize for is for “victim-blaming”, which I only did because in all honesty I don’t believe the story at all. If she did report it and get ignored, I feel the article would have JUMPED at that. Add that the authorities or whoever was protecting Seungri and you have a whole new can of worms. The fact that they didn’t report that… well, again, it is speculation.

And that ties into the reason people are attacking her (again). I think most of those comments are said because people don’t believe it actually happened. Maybe some of them do and they’re just inconsiderate jerks, but I have a feeling a majority of the people making those comments just don’t believe there really is a girl. Again, speculation, but yeah. I don’t think it’s misogynistic so much as trying to make lite of a fabricated story to try and make themselves and others feel less awkward about it.

And at that point I’m going to say this is my last time posting about this story. Discussions are good and all, but I think I’ve stated all I can about this without repeating myself (which I’ve already done I think), and I hate beating a dead horse (which… I almost feel I’m already doing, oops).

          • SMH

I think there’s still a lot to be said. But since you’re done, I’ll just drop it…

I cannot stop laughing at the name ”
    Towelettes” hahahaha.
