Kristin Recaps: Inkigayo 08.26

This week’s episode of Inkigayo was full of rookie groups and old pros!  The best performance of the episode was by faaaaar PSY‘s “Gangnam Style.”  The best part about watching him here is that the crowd is really into it.  It just feels like a giant rowdy party in that studio and I want to go to there.

Other performers include Chaos, Supernova, Eru, BAP, Kara, GLAM, and December.  Check out the highlights to see if you agree with my recap, and scroll down a bit more to watch a playlist of the entire episode!

Enjoy!

HIGHLIGHTS:

~I’m totally digging EXID. I know I probably shouldn’t, because my higher brain functions tell me that they’re nothing special. But I like them nonetheless. I found myself dancing around to this song while watching their performance.

~Dammit, Two X! You’re all beautiful and stuff and you’re making it hard for me to hate you!

~I fell in love with Hanhae when I downloaded his mixtape last summer (click here to get it, it’s amazing and FREE). Now he’s in this group Phantom, and my feelings about the group are not terribly strong one way or the other. I always thought Hanhae would be better off continuing his career as a hip-hop artist, but nothing gets you exposure like being an idol.

~TEEN TOP‘s Egg Song is a winner.  Especially because they destroy fangirl ovaries on a daily basis.

~I had no idea what I was about to see when J.Min got on stage to perform… but I was blown away!!  She has a great voice, great presence, and is a general breath of fresh air amongst all the dancy club tunes populating the k-pop charts at the moment.  Love her!

~For a group on the same label as INFINITE, Tasty definitely does not have very good choreography.  “You Know Me” is actually a pretty cool song but I cannot get behind those jacked up moves.  I appreciate the difficulty level, but the choreo is just not all that interesting to watch.  Sorry boys.

~VIXX‘s “Rock Your Body” is great!  I can even live with the dubstep break because the rest of the song is so much fun!  The choreo is really fun, too!

~Whoever does TEEN TOP‘s choreography is some kind of sadist who enjoys torturing me personally.  I didn’t ask to see all this thrusting!!  And I didn’t ask to feel this way about it!  I swear I didn’t mean it!  And then they go into that “I wanna love you all day I wanna love you all night” part and I just feel so dirty.  STOP IT TEEN TOP.  No one makes me feel my own feelings.

~B2ST‘s “Beautiful Night” really took some time to grow on me.  I was thoroughly unimpressed the first time I heard it but watching this Inkigayo performance I was smiling like an idiot and singing a long.  ”I LOOOOOOOST MY MONEY!!”

~PSY‘s “Gangnam Style.”  It’s here.  That is all.

~I think it’s cool that BoA‘s been bringing on popular male idols to dance with her during her “Only One” performances, but I feel like she just, like, dances next to them instead of with them.  There’s no connection whatsoever between her and Taemin in this Inkigayo stage, and it just seems really boring/forced.  She might as well partner with one of her backup dancers if it’s going to be that boring to watch…

Thanks for rating this! Now tell the world how you feel –
(Nah, it’s cool; just take me back.)
