Weekly Flashback: SHINee’s Replay

I tried to think of an older group who I had a debut song that I absolutely loved, and it was difficult. As much as I love BigBang, their first few songs make me giggle, not swoon. So instead I tried to think of groups that were recently in the news, and that was when it hit me. SHINee. Oh SHINee…

As someone who has officially graduated college and is now in the real world, I sometimes feel like a pedonoona. I mean, good-lord! Most of the rookie groups are so young! And I? I am not. Plus, there is the tiny fact that I’ve mainly dated guys younger than me, so… SHINee’s debut song ‘Replay’, or ‘누난 너무 예뻐 (Noona you’re so pretty)’, has a special place in my heart. Not only is the song catchy and sweet, they actually sound and look pretty damn good on their debut stage.

Of course, that was 4 years ago. They still sound and look amazing, but they are about to enter their fifth year. I’ve heard rumors about a “5 year” curse, but from what I can tell these boys are going strong! So sit down and enjoy this little bit of heaven as we all take a minute to pacify our inner pedonoonas.
