2NE1′s New Evolution Tour – All the American Deets You Need to Know

So, I bet a lot of you are wondering “Hey, 2NE1 is in the US! Why hasn’t American K-Pop Fans mentioned anything about this to me, the American K-Pop fan?” Okay, maybe you’re not American, but I am going to pretend you are. And while I am a total YG Entertainment-stan, I have been trying my hardest to not read anything about 2NE1 being in the US. Why? Because I am jelly. Completely and utterly jelly.

Being a recent and poor college grad, I had to make the horribly hard decision this year between my two favorite K-Pop bands. Did I want to spend the little bit of money I’m saving up for a trip to NJ in August to see 2NE1? Or in November to see BIG BANG? Since I knew I couldn’t have enough money in time, the decision was made. And the chance of seeing 2NE1 in concert evar slipped closer to 0.

That is why I have been avoiding the pictures and fancams and news like the plague. But that isn’t fair to you, is it? So let me just cut to the chase (sorry, I am a bit long winded as you may know and if you’ve read any of my other articles), and give you the deets. First, the schedule:

Friday, August 17- New Evolution Concert, 8pm EST @ Prudential Center, Newark, NJ
Wednesday, August 22- Facebook Live Q&A, 5pm PST @ Facebook Headquarters, Menlo Park, CA
Friday, August 24- New Evolution Concert, 8pm PST @ Nokia Theater LA Live, Los Angeles, CA

Next, the event details:

New Jersey Concert – I… will not be attending this. Rage face. What about you? Will you be attending one of the best concerts to pass through the Prudential Center this year? Are you pumped? Are your feels making you go ahjakshdflahsdl? Are you super duper extremely excited? Well, deep down I might hate you a little bit. But if you bring back lots of pictures and stories, I will forgive you. If you are attending this concert, I suggest you take a second and go visit YGLadies.com, specifically their NJ & LA Projects page. Turns out some of the amazing BlackJacks have organized 2 meet-ups, a special NJ Project to be performed during ‘I Love You’, and a pre-concert flashmob that they want you to participate in. If you’re going but don’t want to dance for the flashmob, you should totally record this flashmob and send it to us! We’d love to show the rest of our readership!

Facebook Live Q&A – Ah, finally something the non-travelable can do! 2NE1′s official facebook page announced this fun event on Tuesday and created a nice little event for all of us to join right here. Before the event, head to the event page and shout out your question, because there is a chance the girls will answer it! Of course, so many people are doing this that your chances are slim, but a 0.0001% chance is still a chance! (No, I’m not bitter about not being able to see 2NE1 or attend the live chat at all…) Good luck! Fighting!

Los Angeles Concert – Sometimes I wished I lived in California. But I don’t. So I won’t be attending this concert either. All of the things said for the NJ concert go for this one as well (except for the projects, those are specific to each concert). Send all pictures and tweets filled with feels my way! I would love to live vicariously through you all! And just like with NJ, YG Ladies has posted about some special LA events such as a breakfast meet up (yum), fan chants (which could probably be used during the NJ concert as well), and a special LA Project to be performed during Lonely.

Lastly, the pictures so far:

So. Many. Pictures. But I am glad to say that it looks like the North American BlackJacks behaved themselves and we didn’t have anyone going all sasaeng fan on them. Thank you! I was going to upload a gallery of photos, but since I wasn’t there, I didn’t want anyone to think that I was taking credit for them. So instead, I am going to direct you to KPopStarz. They got some great photos of BlackJacks waiting for 2NE1′s arrival as well as 2NE1 themselves. There are plenty of other fan taken pictures, but I was worried, again, about not crediting the original photographer due to some pictures looking edited, missing watermarks, and the like. If you happen to have taken some amazing pictures, let me know and send them our way! We’d love to show them off to everyone (and we promise to give credit where credit is due!)

Overall, I am just so happy that 2NE1 is in the US, but I really wish they would go visit a late night talk show. I know, 2NE1 isn’t known for their appearances on TV, but I think that since this is a special occasion, YG should have tried to swing something.

    I’m right there with you. Had to choose between 2ne1 now, or BigBang in November, and didn’t have enough $$$ to swing 2ne1 now :( I’ve been going between raging jealousy and extremely bummed. I can only console myself with the knowledge that I get to see BigBang!!

    I wanna be there so baddd ;~~~;

    See this is where I’m stupid. I’m definitely going to see Big Bang and I could’ve gone to see 2NE1 but I decided not to. I like 2NE1 but I don’t LOVE them like I love BB. Then the fancams from their Seoul concerts came out. Yeahhh… I’m dumb.

    I can’t go to either. Those fancams make me really want to go, but I’ll miss it because of school. Why can’t they come to SF on the weekend =(…
