Nichkhun’s Appearance on ‘Idol Star Olympics’ Causes Problems

Following his DUI accident, Nichkhun has been receiving a lot of criticism from netizens, and was even dropped from his Caribbean Bay ads, which is all reasonable.
Now netizens are on the war path after Nichkhun’s win on MBC ‘Idol Star Olympics’ was aired.

The head producer for the show, Park Suk Won, did release a statement early saying that they would not be able to edit Nichkhun completely out seeing that it would result in entire segments being taken out:

“Nichkhun had established a team with T-ara‘s Jiyeon to participate in a mixed-doubles match of ping pong. Because it is not a one-on-one game, we could not edit him out as we would have had to cut out the entire match…For example, you can’t report a baseball game without including the pitcher. The game will be broadcasted as is, but Nichkhun’s individual interviews have all been edited out…The program airs tonight (July 25th in Korea), and there wasn’t time so we stayed up all night editing…We will work to make sure it isn’t uncomfortable for the viewers to watch.”

Some netizens are saying that he shouldn’t have been shown smiling after what he did, but lets be real here this was filmed long before the accident its not like he frolicking around happily after the fact. We can’t expect the producers of the show to air the special with big gaps in it.
